Wheel of Fate
Most random pickers ask you to trust them. This one shows its working: give it options, choose how many draws, and it reports the distribution, the leader, and whether the lead means anything at all.
What it does
- Weighted options — one per line, so repeating an option makes it more likely. Up to 24 entries.
- Single spin or simulation — draw once, or run up to 1000 draws and watch the tally resolve.
- Live distribution — counts and percentages per option, sorted, leader highlighted against an even-split line.
- An honest verdict — a chi-square p-value plus effect size decides whether the result "leans", is "slightly skewed", or shows "no clear favourite".
- Deep links — encode the options and run count in the URL to share a decision setup.
- Nothing collected — no accounts, no analytics, no server-side draw.
How it's built
One HTML file. No framework, no dependencies, no build step. The simulation precomputes every draw and replays the tally over roughly a second with a watchdog timer, because animation frames get throttled in a background tab and a naive implementation stalls at nine draws and never finishes.
The statistics are computed in the page: chi-square against the expected uniform distribution, with an effect-size ratio so a large sample doesn't produce a "significant" result that's one percent away from even.
